Complex Analysis 503, Fall 2010
Time: Tuesday and Thursday 1:25 - 2:40
Place: Neill 203
Text(s): We will be work through Don Marshall's notes (all of first quarter notes and possibly pieces of the second quarter notes). We may find Ash and Novinger useful as well. You can obtain all these texts here:
Grades: This is a graduate class, and a commensurate maturity level will be assumed -- you are expected to read the material, participate in class, work on the assigned problems, etc. I will grade on participation, presentations (I expect each student to present solutions to questions/problems 3-4 times during the semester), work on problems and a take-home final. There will be no in class tests. The one take home final at the end of the semester that will be straightforward for those who have attended class and participated and not so easy for those who haven't. Note: you will be expected to hand in three exercises you create per week. Some of these will appear on the final take-home test.
Homework from Marshall: link to homework on Don Marshall's page
Assignments: We will cover, on the average, about 4 pages per class meeting and we will cover all of the first set of notes from Marshall. The problems will appear here as they are assigned.
